About Ehab Abdelmalek, MD
Dr. Ehab Abdelmalek is a board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist with more than 15 years of clinical experience. He received his medical degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. He completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, after which he joined the Downstate faculty as a Clinical Assistant Professor, serving a community in need of healthcare resources.
While there, Dr. Abdelmalek was involved in research to help improve conditions for his patients. His dedication led to his promotion as Director of Labor and Delivery where he oversaw multiple quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. He was also responsible in achieving Baby-Friendly accreditation for the facility.
Dr. Abdelmalek has received multiple awards for excellence in clinical care as well as the education of both medical students and resident physicians. He has a strong commitment towards improving women’s health. His areas of focus include full spectrum obstetrical care, health maintenance/preventive care, cervical dysplasia, abnormal uterine bleeding, sexually transmitted infections, complex contraception and gynecologic surgery.
